I had a fantastic experience staying at the unique Peniche Althea Bed & Breakfast. The views of the water and old town were amazing, and the old barge added so much character to my stay. Sitting on the boat deck, overlooking the river and city, was peaceful. The captain's cabin was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for my belongings. The small porch facing the Rhone river offered an excellent view of the Pope Palace and the city. I enjoyed a romantic picnic onboard with delicious food and a bottle of Chateauneuf de Pape. The host was friendly and accommodating, always ensuring I had everything I needed. Plus, the free coffee onboard was a nice touch. I highly recommend this unique experience.

We stayed in the captains cabin at Peniche Althea for one night. The cabin was spacious with a comfortable bed, a small porch with a great view of the Rhone river, and plenty of storage space. The bathroom, though simple, was functional. The free coffee and quick service from the host were a nice touch. The location, with free parking and proximity to the old town, was convenient. Staying on the boat and watching the boats go by was a relaxing experience.
Would recommend this hotel.

We had an amazing stay at the unique Peniche Althea in Avignon. The boat had so much character and charm, and the views over the river to the city were fantastic. The peaceful atmosphere made it a pleasure to relax on the deck and enjoy the scenery. The host was friendly and cute, and the onboard fridge was a handy feature for our romantic picnic. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved the experience of staying in the captain's quarters. It was easy to walk to the city walls and explore the shops and restaurants nearby.
The only thing that could make the breakfast offerings better would be more variety.
